Quiet Workhorse!, (What's this?) Purchased this to replace a WDC 120GB HDD in a Dell Vostro 1520 laptop. We are by no means heavy users, as the laptop is for Internet surfing, photo-viewing and editing, so the raw speed was hardly a concern to us. After the upgrade, again, we don't notice much difference in the way of disk speed. However, we do notice that the the laptop is now noticeably quieter. SO, along with four times the disk space, the extra quietness is definitely a bonus.
Great PS3 Replacement Drive, (What's this?) I bought this to replace my hard drive in my playstation, and it works great - there were a few glitches with the system, but the drive itself has worked just fine since installing it.
Damaged after 2 weeks, (What's this?) The drive worked for a week and then came a fatal crash that obliged me to format. After a lengthy session to re-install the operating system and personal files (thank god for Time Machine)it worked for a day or two, and now I get the Hardware problem message from disk utility. If this is supposed to work on a Macbook, that's not my case.
Very reliable: sure to break down, ST9250827AS died twice (!) on me within a 2-year period.
Seagate does send you a new one (don't expect a happy ending though, you'll get the same model) in exchange for the dead, but bid farewell to all your data.
I have an extensive IT background and I tried avoiding Seagate drives for good, but that time I just needed one quick - well, no more Seagate for me or anyone I know, this time for sure.
Great So Far, Just installed in my MacBook Pro 17" to replace the Hiatachi 250 GB original drive - needed more capacity. Works great so far. Much faster than the old one, noise level seems the same.
Good HDD, (What's this?) I used this in my Playstation 3 (PS3) and find it is more than space for everything I need. I actually could have gotten away with a 320GB, but decided against it when I remembered how much space the PS3 eats by itself.
Super easy install, perfect PS3 match, (What's this?) HDD arrived right on time and was almost packed TOO well. I ordered this HDD to replace the stock PS3 80GB HDD and after backing up the original, installing this 500GB was easy.
Great hard drive!!, (What's this?) I bought this Seagate hard drive to replace a 320GB one on my Gateway NV53 laptop. It has worked very efficiently and it doesn't make laptop hot or noisy at all. Does what it is suppose to do and has even exceeded my expectations considering the good price I got it for. I see I got it at a good time because price has raised by $30+...
